The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is offering an exciting internship opportunity for college students in 2024. The SECI Internship aims to provide practical experience and insights into the renewable energy sector, allowing students to explore future career prospects in this rapidly growing field.

The internship is open to students pursuing Engineering, Renewable Energy Sector degrees, CA/CS, AICWA, CMA, or MBA in HR/Finance/IT/CC. The duration ranges from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months for Engineering/M-Tech students, while for CA/CS/AICWA/CMA/MBA students, it ranges from 7 weeks to 3 years.
Interns will receive a stipend of Rs. 5000/- per month and a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the internship and submission of the project report. The internship serves as a conduit for students to understand the implementation of Government of India schemes in Renewable Energy and contribute to the sector through data analysis and practical exposure.
About the SECI Internship
Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) is a company of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, established to facilitate the implementation of the National Solar Mission (NSM). It is the only Central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) dedicated to the solar energy sector. The company’s mandate has been broadened to cover the entire renewable energy domain and the company will be renamed to Renewable Energy Corporation of India (RECI).
The company is responsible for the implementation of a number of government schemes, major ones being the VGF schemes for large-scale grid-connected projects under NSM, solar park scheme, and grid-connected solar rooftop scheme, along with a host of other specialized schemes such as defence scheme, solar canals, and Indo-Pak border scheme.
In addition, SECI has ventured into solar project development on a turnkey basis for several PSUs. The company also has a power-trading license and is active in this domain through trading of solar power from projects set up under the schemes being implemented by it

Purpose of SECI Internship
The ‘Interns’ will be able to learn about the Government of India’s renewable energy and solar-wind hybrid schemes, as well as floating solar, solar manufacturing, battery energy storage systems, solar park development, solar rooftop projects, and off-grid solar applications. They will also be able to contribute to the renewable sector by generating data inputs and analysis and gaining practical experience in other professional fields.
Eligibility Criteria for SECI Internship
The Internship will be available to students engaged in research/students pursuing Engineering Graduate & Post Graduate Degrees / Ph. D in Renewable Energy Sector / CA/CS AICWA/ CMA/MBA in HR/ Finance/ IT/ CC from a recognized University/Institution within India or abroad.
Objective
The Internship Program will serve as an opportunity for students to gain an understanding of Renewable as a sector and SECI as an employer and help them evaluate future career opportunities. The Program will be structured, short-term, supervised placements often focused on particular tasks or projects with defined timescales. The work should be meaningful and must be mutually beneficial for the intern and the Corporation. It is neither a job nor any such assurance for a job in the Corporation.
Duration
Paid internships will run from a minimum of three months to a maximum of six months for Engineering/M-Tech students (during internship/course) and from six months to three years for CA/CS/ICWA/CMA and MBA students (minimum of seven weeks to six months). Individuals who have finished the course or stopped in the middle won’t be qualified.
Benefits
A stipend of Rs 8000/-per month would be given to learners whose training time is less than six months.
A stipend of Rs. 12,000/-per month would be given to students whose training length exceeds 06 months and does not exceed 03 years.
A candidate receives a Certificate of Completion only if they have submitted a project report and after checking attendance record
