About NITI Aayog

The NITI Aayog(National Institution for Transforming India)serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India.NITI Aayog nodal agency tasked with catalyzing economic development, and fostering cooperative federalism and moving away from bargaining federalism through the involvement of State Governments of India in the economic policy-making process using a bottom-up approach.It was established in 2015, by the NDA government, to replace the Planning Commission which followed a top-down model. The NITI Aayog council comprises all the state Chief Ministers, along with the Chief Ministers of Delhi and Puducherry, Lieutenant Governors of all UTs, and a vice-chairman nominated by the Prime Minister.In addition, temporary members are selected from leading universities and research institutions. These members include a chief executive officer, four ex-officio members, and three part-time members.

Details Of NITI Aayog Internship

NITI Aayog, the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India, is inviting applications from undergraduate, postgraduate students and from research scholars who are enrolled in recognised universities or institutions in India and abroad for their internship schemes. Candidates are advised to apply on the official website.

The applicants will get an opportunity to work closely with the verticals or cells or divisions of the NITI Aayog. The online application link is open from the first and 10th of every month.

Objectives of the scheme

– To allow the intern to be familiar with Niti Aayog’s work.

– The interns will have an opportunity to know about the functioning of the Government of India and contribute to policy formation.

Eligibility Criteria For NITI Aayog Internship

The applicant must be a student of any recognised university or institution in India or abroad.

The undergraduate applicant should have completed the term-end examinations of the fourth semester or second year and should have at least scored 85 per cent in class 12.

Post-Graduate students should have completed his or her first year or second semester exams and should not have scored less than 70 per cent in their graduation.

The period between the month of declaration of result of final exam and the desired month of internship should not exceed six months e.g. if the result is declared in the month of June then he/she can apply for the internship beginning till the month of December.

Documents Required

1.Marksheets of class 10th and 12th.

2.Marksheets of all semesters/years of graduation, PG, along with the degree (as applicable)

3.NOC in a specific format as mentioned in the application guidelines.

Attendance

The interns will have to maintain a minimum of 75 per cent attendance to avail the experience certificate. In case the attendance is less than 75 per cent, no extension will be given for the internship period.
